He helped Bertie not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Lionel served as Brutes moral support and listener. Through his encouraging yet provoking words, Bertie gained self-confidence and he became aware of the source of his fear. If he did not know of this, he would not have been able to Identify where to start the change. As Bertie began to change. His fear to speak began to disappear gradually.But his true challenge also began here. Becoming a king was an overwhelming event for Bertie.
